In 2005 I completed a creative practice-led PhD exploring feminism, genealogy and social history through public installation art. Since then I have pursued a research practice anchored in both more traditional qualitative and experimental methods. Art practice remains  central to this, where I attempt to map and document the nexus of personal experience with the public realm: the places were identity is negotiated and history is made. This includes studies of biography, politics and ideology, and has involved a number of projects, both in gallery and public spaces — including ephemeral installations, projections, sound works, performances, and artist books. I have also collaborated with a number of artists across different disciplines, including the Australian feminist collective LEVEL.
